Why Am I Running?
Wish I had a nickel for every time I’m asked that question.
Their next statement is usually, “are you nuts?”
I’m running because it’s time. My time. My life and career are at a junction that affords me the opportunity to give back to St. Charles. And, I have the time, wherewithal and experience to lead the effort to restore St. Charles to its rightful position as the lead city in St. Charles County.
Like many of you, I have seen St. Peters, O’Fallon and even Wentzville move past St. Charles in terms of growth, facilities, programs, processes and progress.
There are a number of good things about St. Charles City. There are also a number of things that are not so good about St. Charles.
Some now say, “it’s too late for St. Charles. It’s rundown and there’s not enough land left to develop and grow.” Not enough business opportunity.
I say the only thing that isn’t growing in St. Charles is the leadership that lacks the imagination and passion to make it happen.
I’m running to make a difference. I’m running to build a culture of cooperation instead of confrontation. I’m running to bring solid, successful business practices to every department of city operation. I’m running to push for good and eliminate the bad, broken and negative practices that have held St. Charles back.
I’m running because I love this city and I want it to be the best…Period!
